Dissertation Prize of DPG for Peter Micke

For his dissertation and lecture entitled „Quantum Logic Spectroscopy of Highly Charged Ions“, Dr. Peter Micke has been awarded the Dissertation Prize of the Section Atoms, Molecules, Quantum Optics and Plasmas (SAMOP) of DPG. He did his work in José Crespo's group in Thomas Pfeifer's division at MPIK and in Piet O. Schmidt's group at the Institute for Experimental Quantum Metrology (QUEST) at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt/Leibniz Universität Hannover. Peter Micke is now conducting research at CERN in the BASE collaboration, where he is working on precision measurements of antiprotons.

The aim of the annual SAMOP prize is to recognise outstanding scientific work and its excellent presentation in a lecture.
