Guided Tours

Groups – delegations, classes, physics students, but also other interested persons – are welcome at our Institute.

Usually, a guided tour consists of:

  • an introductory lecture giving an overview about structure, history and research fields of the Institute.
  • a guided tour through selected labs with an explanation of the experiments.

Overall duration of the tour: about two hours.

Guided tours are generally only possible on weekdays, the group size should not exceed 30 participants. Visits of larger groups can be requested in exceptional cases.

Please note that guided tours are generally only useful for school students at high school level (grade 10 and above), as a knowledge of certain physical principles is assumed.

The guided tours are part of the public relations work of the Max Planck Society and are therefore free of charge.

If you are interested, please contact our public relations office to arrange a date (on workdays).
