Dr. Laura Cattaneo, head of the Max Planck Research Group „ULCD – Ultrafast Liquid Crystal Dynamics“ at MPIK, will be honored within the Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professorship Program 2024 of the Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging (CUI). The Program includes an extended research stay at the Cluster of Excellence "CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter" as well as prize money of € 10,000 for the Junior Award. Each year, the program honors one outstanding established scientist and one highly promising young scientist.
Laura Cattaneo leads her independent research group at the MPIK since May 2020. She studied physics at the Politecnico of Milano and received her doctorate in 2011, under the supervision of Prof. Pietro Cavallotti. This was followed by two postdoctoral research grants at Radboud University of Nijmegen (2011-2014) and at ETH Zurich (2014-2020).
