Title: | Precision atomic mass measurements with applications to fundamental constants, neutrino physics and physical chemistry |
Abstract
A summary will be given of precision Penning trap atomic mass measurements of stable isotopes carried out at Florida State University. These include masses of the alkali and alkaline-earth metals for the photon-recoil method for obtaining the fine structure constant, of isotope pairs for double beta-decay, and of oxygen isotopes for molecular spectroscopy. Measurements of body-frame dipole moments of diatomic and triatomic molecular ions will also be briefly discussed.
