MPG-BMBF-TÜBITAK Preparatory Workshop

Nuclear structure studies using empirical and theoretical ground and excited state properties Nov. 18 - 20, 2014, Istanbul University, Turkey

The workshop on "Nuclear structure studies using empirical and theoretical ground and excited state properties" will take place Nov. 18-20, 2014 at Istanbul University external Link, Turkey. It is jointly organized by Klaus Blaum - MPIK external Link, Germany and R. Burcu Cakirli - Istanbul University, Turkey.

Scientific Scope

The workshop will comprise a number of talks and plenty of time for discussions. Our goal is to exchange ideas, talk about recent projects and make new plans for the future collaboration.

The workshop will cover ground state observables such as masses and charge radii, and excited state observables, in particular low-lying excited levels, for nuclei in different regions of the nuclei chart. One of the main goals of the workshop is to combine all of these observables and study nuclear structure in a wider perspective with well known scientists who are experts in their fields. This way of working on nuclei has the advantage of bringing different communities in the field together and to propose new subjects, experiment(s) for the future. In the framework of the workshop and invited speakers, these topics will be discussed both empirically and theoretically.
