Learning targets: Understanding of the basics of optics and optical instruments, of experimental basics of quantum physics and their mathematical description. Work independently on simple physical problems.

Mandatory/advantageous previous knowledge: Content of Experimentalphysik I (PEP1), Experimentalphysik II (PEP2), Theoretische Physik I (PTP1) and Theoretische Physik II (PTP2)

Useful literature: the literature recommendations are updated in the module manual by the lecturer.

Specifics: tutorial with homework

Examination regulations: two 90-minute written examinations; 60% of the homework (participation condition for written examinations); compensation between examinations allowed, on average 30% correct.

Examination dates: Sat., 22.11.08 and Sat., 31.01.09 (each 90 minutes)

Retry examination: 3-hour written examination

Additional examination (§18 para. 5): 30-minute oral examination
