LIAF: Laboratory for Laser Induced Atomic Fluorescence and ionization.

Wo liegen die Grenzen der nuklearen Existenz? Wie entstehen einfache Muster in komplexen Kernen? Gibt es neue Strukturformen fernab von Stabilität? Dies sind einige der offenen Fragen, die unsere Gruppe entschlüsseln möchte. Zu diesem Zweck werden wir hochpräzise und hochempfindliche Laserspektroskopietechniken entwickeln, um die Untersuchung exotischer Kerne weit über die Beta-Stabilitätslinie hinaus voranzutreiben.

Unsere Forschung basiert auf der etablierten Technik der kollinearen Laserspektroskopie und umfasst die Messung einzigartiger Kerneigenschaften wie Kernspins, elektromagnetische Momente und Ladungsradien aus Hyperfeinstrukturen und Isotopenverschiebungen in kurzlebigen radioaktiven Kernen. Unser hohes Ziel ist es, Licht auf den Ursprung nuklearer Phänomene zu werfen und die Eigenschaften der Kernmaterie an den äußersten Rändern ihrer Existenz zu verstehen.
