Heidelberg International Symposium on High-Energy Gamma-Ray Astronomy

The Heidelberg International Symposium on High-Energy Gamma-Ray Astronomy is a conference series established nearly 30 years ago by scientists at the MPIK, with its 7th edition in 2022.

The meeting covers the major observational and theoretical aspects of the field with an emphasis on the high (GeV) and very high (TeV) energy intervals of the electromagnetic spectrum.

From 2000 to 2016 the meeting was held every four years in Heidelberg at the historic Kongresshaus Stadthalle.

Due to the COVID pandemic the 2020 event was skipped, and for the first time in 2022, it went 'on tour' hosted in Barcelona. Given the rapid pace of development of the field, we now plan to adopt a 2-yearly cadence for the symposium, with every other event returning to Heidelberg (from 2026).
