Engineering Design Office at MPI für Kernphysik

In the engineering design office, a 3D CAD system is used to develop most of the components for scientific experiments, which are then built in the precision mechanics shops. The CAD system provides freely rotatable 3-dimensional views, technical drawings for production, data for controlling the CNC machines and lists of all the materials needed. In addition, the software enables numerical simulations for prior testing of the components.
