07 Apr 2010 - First kinematically complete experiment on electron impact ionization of aligned molecules

The electron collision group has recently published the first results from their kinematically complete experiments on electron impact ionization of aligned hydrogen molecules. Using an advanced reaction microscope, the full dynamics of the electronic collision is captured while simultaneously determining the alignment of the ionized molecule.
