EROS2 Results on Baryonic Dark Matter
The EROS2 microlensing survey searches for massive compact halo
objects (MACHOs). Recent results of EROS2 towards the Large Magellanic
Cloud (LMC) and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) are presented. The
dark halo mass fraction in MACHOs of 0.4 M_sun is less than 30
%. Halo white dwarfs (HWD), a popular baryonic dark matter candidate,
were searched for directly with a ~ 380 deg^2 high proper motion
survey. Preliminary results of this survey are given. No HWD has been
found. This sets strong limits on a possible protogalactic white dwarf
(WD) population.
