Monte Carlo Study of Supernova Neutrino Spectra Formation
We study the spectra formation of neutrinos in proto-neutron stars
shortly after the bounce of a core collapse supernova (SN). In view of
the discussion about determinig mixing parameters by measuring neutrinos
from a galactic SN we put the main emphasis on mu and tau type neutrinos.
In performing parameter studies with various neutron star atmospheres and
neutrino interactions we find that fluxes and spectra are significantly
influenced by reactions that are currently not implemented in
hydrodynamic SN simulations (bremsstrahlung, nucleon recoil) and one rate
that has never been seriously taken into consideration (electron neutrino
pair annihilation).
Based on a paper in preparation.
