New Managing Director of the MPIK

On January 1st Prof. Dr. Klaus Blaum took over the management of the MPIK. Klaus Blaum has been Director of the Stored and Cooled Ions Department since 2007 and was recently awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize by the German Research Foundation. This is his second term as Managing Director, following his first term from 2012 to 2015. His predecessor, Prof. Dr. Christoph H. Keitel, will serve as Deputy Managing Director for the next two years.
