Hands-on session:

Simulation of accelerator neutrino experiments

This hands-on session will introduce some of the basic concepts required to simulate accelerator neutrino experiments in GLoBES. We will start from a simple and incomplete simulation of the T2K superbeam experiments, which we will gradually improve. We will first consider the precision measurement of the leading atmospheric oscillation parameters theta-23 and Delta m_31^2, and study how this measurement is affected by the analysis method, by parameter correlations, and by degeneracies. In the second part of the tutorial, we will focus on the possible detection of non-zero theta-13 and delta_CP. Again, parameter correlations and degeneracies will play an important role, and we will study strategies for breaking them.
