Application and Admission

The school offers funding to talented students from all over the world. Admission will be granted on a competitive basis. 

Prerequisites:

• Master of Science degree (or equivalent), average grade B+ or better,
• Master thesis (or publications in international, refereed journals),
• Proof of proficiency in English (if mother tongue is not English or German),
• Sound knowledge of Quantum Mechanics (evidenced by course certificates, mark sheets etc.).

PhD students who obtain funding by the IMPRS-QD in Physics are envisaged to become also members of the Heidelberg Graduate School for Physics (HGSFP).

In general, short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews with their potential supervisors and an oral presentation of their Master projects.
