The following social events / activities are offered and included at no extra cost
in the conference fee of registered participants

On all conference days
Coffee breaks, lunches and shuttle buses from/to town.
On June 8 there will be a welcome reception at MPIK with drinks, snacks and a presentation on the historic development of science in Heidelberg. Shuttle buses will take participants back to town after the event.
All participants are invited to join after the morning session an excursion on Thursday, June 11. Buses will depart from the workshop site and bring participants to the four castle town of Neckarsteinach. After lunch and some free time there we will board a boat for a trip downstreams the picturesque Neckar valley to the central historic part of Heidelberg.
There exist several options for the 2nd half of the afternoon. Participants may explore on their own some of the historic attractions of old Heidelberg, like the Castle, the Studentenkarzer, the old bridge up the Schlangenweg to the Philosophenweg and Philosophengarten, etc. A limited number of participants can join a guided tour to some historic locations which are connected to the history of science in Heidelberg.
The conference dinner will be on the evening of Thursday, June 11, at 19:00 at
restaurant Molkenkur, with a nice panoramic view over Heidelberg.

Accompanying Persons |
Accompanying persons who would like to join the excursion and/or the conference
dinner should be registered on the first day of the conference. A reduced fee covering
the expenses will be collected in cash.
