Poster Session PS12: "Galileo Results"
European Geophysical Society Conference
April 19-23, 1999
Den Haag, The NetherlandsAbstract
The Galileo Dust Detector instrument has acquired in the Jovian system about three years of in situ dust grain data. We are analyzing this unevenly-spaced, nonstationary time series using time-frequency methods, in order to gain insight into the dust data histories, trends, and correlations, especially with respect to Jupiter's satellites. Some recent time-frequency analysis results show that the origin of the Jovian dust streams is best matched by Io as the source of the dust particles. Our results highlight the use of high and low resolution time-frequency analysis methods, such as a Fourier periodogram and wavelet tranforms. Our poster at the European Geophysical Society Conference was only up and visible for two days. Since we had some requests to distribute the poster in a convenient way, we have created a Web view, where one can select part of the poster that one wishes to see and then to download.
Simply click your mouse in one of the rectangles below, and you will find yourself on a Web page containing just that portion of the poster.

If you don't mind needing a magnifying glass to read some of the fine print, you may also download an A4-sized color PS version version of this poster.
Acknowledgements: Many thanks to Ph. Héraudeau, MPI-A, for teaching about the intricacies of IslandDraw and poster-sized printers and for helping to make the final output look so nice.
