From: Amara Lynn Graps Reply-To: amara.graps@ifsi-roma.inaf.it Organization: INAF-IFSI Subject: [DIPS2005] Proceedings: A Dusty Status Report Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2006 16:11:45 +0200 Dear DIPS 2005 Proceedings Authors, It has been some time since you've heard from us; here is the status of the Proceedings Book for the Dust in Planetary Systems 2005 conference in Kauai, Hawaii. The chapters for the book (*) are the following: http://www.mpi-hd.mpg.de/dustgroup/~graps/dips2005/dipschapters.html Status: -All chapters are submitted, refereed, completed. -All chapters are indexed. -We have a Table of Contents. -The editors have written a Preface. -Harald Krueger has the first-draft printout, which he and I will be reviewing together next week while at EUROPLANET. Still to do: -Check a few papers for grammar. -Design the cover graphic. -Make the necessary arrangements at ESTEC (via Gerhard Schwehm) for printing and stamping CDs. My guess is that the printing will be October or latest, November. Question: * Are you interested to have web access to individual papers? (Please answer to dips2005@mps.mpg.de). Note that you will have a CD of the entire book, in addition to the hard copy, so it will be the dust community's first fully searchable Dust Reference book. For the non-DIPS2005 folks, I think that making individual chapters downloadable would be a nice service. For individual papers to be freely downloadable, we would need 1) your consent, 2) ESA permission. We will work on getting the latter ESA permission, while we arrange the printing. Viva la dust! It has been a busy and productive year for our community. Many thanks too, for your input to the Wikipedia Cosmic Dust pages (**). Keep that input coming... Greetings from Rome, Amara Graps (and virtually : Harald Krueger) (*) http://www.mpi-hd.mpg.de/dustgroup/~graps/dips2005/ (**) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_dust
