Diploma, master and bachelor theses
Thesis within the PENTATRAP project at MPIK
The PENTATRAP experiment searches students interested in working in the field of ion traps.
The experiment is currently being set up and put into operation. (Left photo:

The experimental program could e.g. include tests of the cryogenic detection system, the
commissioning of the already existing trap tower and the cryogenic experimental environment
and many other interesting tasks.
The following techniques are applied:
- Production and storage of single ions
- Detection of single particles
- Low temperature physics
- Rf- and microwave technology
- Superconducting magnets
- Labview based experiment control and simulation calculations
