Bachelor thesis at ISOLTRAP at CERN - einzel lens

ISOLTRAP experiment

Within the bachelor thesis, an einzel lens is to be designed to replace an optical element in the current beam line. The simulation program SIMION will be used to dimension the exact geometry of the lens for optimal beam transport. Moreover, knowledge about AUTODESK INVENTOR will be acquired to make a technical drawing for the manufacturing of the einzel lens. The einzel lens will then be implemented into the current setup and commissioned. Moreover, beam-tuning skills will be provided and assisting during online runs of the experiment is expected.

Start of project: From 1.11.2011 or later (to be discussed).
